Light filters through leaves holding on for dear life
As summer’s diminuendo gives way to
Evening arriving earlier and the
Day’s warmth is exchanged for night’s cool.
The once light green young hues have
Deepened with age and then
Bursts of colors begin to appear.
The colors of change and transition and endings
With promise of another season
That welcomes pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider and
Cardigans
And I feel my Father God whisper that He is there,
In the changing seasons and last-dances-of-leaves.
